Types of Therapies Provided

    Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT helps people change their relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions so they no longer control daily life. Instead of trying to eliminate distress, ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility, clarifying personal values, and taking meaningful action—even when things feel hard. Sessions are practical and experiential, using evidence-based exercises to support real-life change. Research shows ACT can be effective for anxiety, depression, stress, and other emotional challenges while helping people live more in line with what matters most.

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps people understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and teaches practical skills to change unhelpful patterns. Therapy focuses on real-life problem solving, developing coping strategies, and practicing new skills both in and outside of sessions. CBT is structured, goal-oriented, and evidence-based. Research shows it is effective for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, and mood-related challenges.

    Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is an evidence-based therapy that combines mindfulness, acceptance, and behavior-change strategies to help individuals manage intense emotions and improve relationships. Originally developed for Borderline Personality Disorder, DBT is now proven to help with emotion regulation difficulties, depression, anxiety, impulsive behaviors, substance use, eating disorders, and relationship stress. DBT teaches skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to support healthier coping and emotional balance.

    Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy

Prolonged Exposure (PE) is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD and trauma-related concerns. PE helps individuals gradually and safely confront trauma-related memories and avoided situations, allowing distress to decrease over time and confidence to grow. Treatment is structured and includes both in-session exercises and at-home practice. PE is typically a short-term therapy, lasting about 12–16 sessions, and is widely supported by research for trauma recovery.

DBT Prolonged Exposure Protocol (DBT PE)

DBT-PE is a specialized, evidence-based treatment for individuals with PTSD who also experience high-risk behaviors such as self-harm or suicidal thoughts. This approach integrates standard DBT with trauma-focused Prolonged Exposure to ensure safety and stability while processing trauma. Treatment includes weekly DBT sessions and a 90-minute PE session, typically over 13 sessions. Research shows that 71–80% of individuals no longer meet criteria for PTSD after completing DBT-PE.

    Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

CPT is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD that helps individuals identify and change unhelpful beliefs related to trauma. Through structured exercises—such as written reflections and cognitive restructuring—clients learn to reframe thoughts about themselves, others, and the world. CPT supports reduced distress, improved emotional regulation, and a renewed sense of control. It is a short-term therapy, typically lasting 12–16 sessions.

    Mindfulness Self-Compassion (MSC)

MSC helps individuals develop greater kindness, understanding, and compassion toward themselves during difficult experiences. Through guided mindfulness and experiential exercises, clients learn to respond to stress and emotional pain with care rather than self-criticism. Research shows MSC is associated with increased mindfulness, self-compassion, emotional resilience, and life satisfaction, as well as reduced anxiety, depression, and stress.

    Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is an evidence-based treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related anxiety conditions. ERP involves gradually and safely exposing individuals to feared thoughts, situations, or triggers while preventing compulsive behaviors or avoidance. Over time, clients learn that anxiety naturally decreases and that obsessive thoughts lose their power. ERP is structured, collaborative, and highly effective in reducing OCD symptoms and improving daily functioning.
