  • Dr. Kamal is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance. You will receive monthly receipts/superbills that you can submit for insurance reimbursement.

    • Insurance reimbursement rates vary widely based on the specific plan. Call your insurance company and ask the following questions.

    • Please note that all patients are responsible for paying the cost of the session and will be provided with a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

    • Superbills are a record of appointments which can be submitted to insurance companies for reimbursement. They include service codes and other information that insurance companies require for “out-of-network” reimbursement requests.

    • Examples of information found on a Superbill include: patient diagnosis codes (specific to the individual client), client and clinician name, CPT codes, and clinic info (.e. clinic Tax ID/EIN and clinic NPI).

    • A Superbill only includes sessions attended by a client (canceled and missed appointments are not eligible to be added to a Superbill).

  • Experiencing a crisis - or supporting a loved one through one - can feel overwhelming and frightening. While we wish we could offer immediate support to everyone who reaches out, we’re unable to provide crisis services until the intake process is completed. In the meantime, help is available. We encourage you to reach out to crisis resources such as:

If you or a loved one is in immediate danger, please go to your local emergency room, where trained staff can help keep you safe and supported.

    • Most individual weekly sessions are 45 minutes. If you are receiving trauma treatment for Prolonged Exposure, then sessions are 90 minutes.

    • The actual length of treatment will vary for each patient and depends on several factors such as the nature and complexity of your concerns, your goals for treatment, and consistency of attendance. Because each patient’s situation is unique, it can be difficult to predict how long successful treatment will take, and may vary by the individual.

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) typically takes between 4-6 months of weekly sessions, but may take longer. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) treatment often takes at least 6-12 months, and may take longer depending on your needs. Trauma-based treatments such as PE, CPT, DBT-PE, and TF-CBT are typically 3-5 months.

  • If you need to change or cancel your scheduled appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. • Effective January 1, 2022, Congress passed the No Surprises Act, a bill designed to protect patients from “surprise” medical bills and balance billing for emergency services at out-of-network facilities or for out-of-network providers at in-network facilities, holding them liable only for in-network cost-sharing amounts.  As a result, all licensed health providers who offer out of network services are required to post a notice of “your rights and protections against surprise medical bills” on our websites or in our physical offices.

    • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.  Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.  You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.  You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

    • At our clinic, you will be provided a Good Faith Estimate prior to your first session detailing session costs to ensure transparency. You will access the document through your patient portal.

    • For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
